RCMP vehicle involved in multi-vehicle crash near Edmonton

A number of people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving three police vehicles south of Edmonton.

The collision between two sheriff vehicles, an RCMP vehicle and a Lexus SUV happened on the QE-2 near Leduc Friday.

RCMP Constable Bridget Morla has an update on the situation.

“All occupants were transported to hospital via ground ambulance, except the two sheriffs that were involved, traffic was down to one lane but has re-opened and the collision scene has been cleared.” Morla said.

RCMP say the cruisers were parked on the side of the road when the SUV sideswiped them.

Three occupants of the SUV were taken to hospital, with minor injuries.

None of the officers were hurt.
