Calgary Flames head coach wants fans to open hearts and closets

‘Look good. Feel good. Play good.’

That’s one of the mottos of Calgary Flames head coach Bill Peters, who is hoping fans will donate any professional clothing they no longer wear to the Moores Suit Drive.

“If something feels right and looks good to you, it gives you confidence,” he told 660 NEWS. “It doesn’t have to be anything major. It can be a pair of dress shoes, a belt, a tie that matches a certain shirt.”

The drive goes every year, helping Calgarians who are trying to get back on their feet, as they look to re-enter the workforce.

“If you’re going into a job interview and you’re worried about your appearance, or you’re nervous, you might not put your best foot forward,” Peters said. “But, if you can go in there feeling confident and looking good, you’re going to be able to show people what you’re all about.”

And since Peters wears a suit 82 nights a year (and hopefully more), he’s opened up his closet too.

“My wife made a good point the other day, asking ‘do you really need three black suits?'”, he said with a chuckle. “It’s about finding something you’re comfortable with and matching those colours you’re confident in. With pocket squares and everything else, you can really change your look.”

Last year, Moores collected over 62,000 articles of clothing.

The drive runs until the end of the month.
