Stampede Caravan serving up thousands of flapjacks

The Stampede Caravan Committee is halfway through its run of pancake breakfasts.

Flapjacks are flipping at Market Mall and Douglas Square Tuesday.

“Market Mall will be probably a good 5,000 (people) and Douglas Square is growing. It’s a smaller venue, but we still have a good turnout, and so far, at our two breakfasts on Saturday, and the two breakfasts (Monday) we served almost 20,000 people,” Spokesperson Ruth Ann Rayner said.

She said that’s in addition to the 25,000 they fed at the Stampede grounds on Family Day.

Rayner said those are similar numbers to last year.

The breakfasts are free and run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
