SCIENCE SHIP: The birth of a planet & cigarette filter nests

Astronomers say they have the first confirmed image of a planet forming in the dust swirling around a young star.

It’s a planet much larger than Jupiter, and really, really hot.

660’s Jonathan Muma hopped on board the Science Ship with Saint Mary’s University Astrophysicist Dr. Rob Thacker to learn more:

 

Researchers have observed some odd behaviours in birds: some are using cigarette filters to line their nests.

The funny thing is, they’re only doing it with nests infested with ticks.
