Fluor Rope Square brings the cowboy spirit downtown

Fluor Rope Square opens Friday for the Calgary Stampede.

The Downtown Attractions Committee will take over Olympic Plaza and Stephen Avenue daily during the greatest outdoor show on earth, except for Sundays.

Jamie Tittemore said it’s a great off-park way to get in the cowboy mood.

“It is a good way to get the whole family down. There is entertainment for the kids, there is face painting, and old time rigs,” he said that it is a great way to start your day, “Whether you are going down to the ground or are stuck in the office downtown, come down and enjoy a pancake.”

Some of the specific highlights to watch out for are the High Noon Hootenanny, the World Championship Hat Stomp and the Flapjack Flip!
