Corporate Stampede party spending up in 2018

The window art and temporary wood decorations can only mean one thing: Stampede season is almost here.

The Stampede work party is still a highlight for many, even if they aren’t the extravagant tributes to excess they used to be before the downturn.

But there’s a buzz in the air that’s been missing the last few years.

President of The Event Group, David Howard, said business is booming which is a welcome and refreshing change.

“It’s been the best of the last three years certainly and it continues to gain traction even this late in the game,” he said adding open bars and high-end catering are all making a return.

He said party sales are up 40 per cent over last year, and private concerts seem to be this year’s go-to event.

“We’ve booked 12 high-profile acts that are coming in for corporate events, private events, so a lot of musical talent is coming into the city for clients,” he explained.

Howard said the message from companies seems to be the worst is behind us and they want to show their appreciation.
