Jason Dirks, 46, was identified as the victim following an autopsy performed by the chief medical examiner.

At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a home on Margate Place N.E.

They found Dirks in medical distress, and he was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition, but he later died.

Police do not believe this is a random incident and the investigation continues.
