A woman has been rushed to hospital with multiple soft tissue injuries, after Calgary police say she was attacked by a dog that escaped from a backyard.
The 32-year-old was in an alley near a home on Abergale Close Northeast, in the community of Abbeydale, where she was bit by the dog just before 8:30 Wednesday morning.
She is in serious but stable condition.
Calgary Community Standards has seized the dog and located the owner.
Inspector Doug Anderson says the dog is an 11-month-old pit bull cross, and the owner is being cooperative with investigators
No charges have been laid at this time, and Anderson adds it may take a couple of weeks for any charges to come out.
