Charges laid in 2017 homicide

Trisheena Simon, 28, was found seriously injured in northwest Calgary in February 2017 and later died of her injuries. Police have laid manslaughter charges in her death on May 16th, 2018. (Calgary Police Service)

A Lethbridge woman has been charged with manslaughter, following the death of a woman in Calgary last year.

At around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, a security guard found 28-year-old Trisheena Simon injured outside a bank on Northland Drive N.W. She was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries two days later.

Police believe Simon had been involved in an altercation with another woman, which escalated to violence.

They say the two had recently met, but do not know what the fight was about.

Crystal Mills, 45, will appear in court in Calgary on May 25.
