Break out the fascinators for a Royal Wedding viewing party in Calgary

This May long weekend we celebrate Queen Victoria, but it’s also a special weekend for the current royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be wed on the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19.
You can watch it in style, in Calgary.
Several establishments will have viewing parties, but if you don’t want to get up at 5 a.m., Travel Writer Jody Robbins says one downtown hotel will let you sleep in.
“The Fairmont Palliser is pre-recording all the wedding festivities, and then they’ll be playing it at their Royal Wedding Brunch, which takes place on that Saturday, at 10:30 in the morning.”
There will be a plated brunch, chocolate fountain and dessert buffet. Guests are encouraged to dress up, fascinators and all.
“It’s going to be a formal, fancy affair. Chair Flair is kitting out the hotel with lots of great designs and the best dressed couple is going to win tickets to the Fairmont’s Royal Wedding Tea,” said Robbins. “Their afternoon tea takes place May 1 until mid-August. So you can sample a lot of afternoon tea savouries and finger sandwiches and a lot of it is inspired by Meghan and Harry Favourites.”
