Icefields Parkway shutting down for avalanche work

The Icefields Parkway is being shut down for avalanche work starting at 2 p.m. Thursday.
It impacts highway 93 between Athabasca Falls to the Saskatchewan River Crossing.
The Icefields Parkway is expected to re-open sometime Saturday night.
A lot of snow is forecast for the mountain region in the next couple of days, Environment Canada expects at least 10 centimetres for Banff National Park, Kananaskis and Canmore.
A snowfall warning is in effect for Jasper National Park with heavy snow starting Thursday evening.
