OTTAWA (NEWS 1130) – The Trudeau Government’s controversial marijuana bill has passed second reading by a 44-29 vote and now heads to committee.
Ordinarily, second reading — a vote on a bill in principle — would not have been a big hurdle. However, the bill’s fate came into question after 33 Conservative senators vowed to vote en masse against Bill C-45.
More to come.
