Sex offender leaves Vancouver halfway house, Canada-wide warrant issued

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Police in Vancouver are asking the public to be on alert after a high-risk sex offender didn’t return to his halfway house on Friday night, and this isn’t the first time he’s done this.

In February 2015, Stanley Lee Porter, a two-time federal offender, walked away from the facility but returned one day after police issued their warning.

The 47-year-old has an extensive criminal history that dates back more than two decades. He’s currently serving a long-term supervision order after being convicted for sexual assault and sexual interference.

Porter is described as Aboriginal, 5’3″ tall, 180 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees Porter or knows where he may be shouldn’t approach him and should call 911 right away.
