Nathan Paul Gervais disappeared shortly before his murder trial was to begin in April 2016 in the death of an 18-year-old man in a beating outside a downtown bar.

According to Calgary police, Gervais was met by members of the Calgary Police Service upon his return to Canada and should be back in Calgary next week.

Lukas Strasser-Hird died of stab wounds after he was swarmed in 2013 outside a downtown bar.

Three other men were found guilty of manslaughter and murder in the young man’s death, but one of them is appealing the conviction.
