Calgary cold snap coming to an end

If you’ve had enough of the minus 30 degree weather and minus 40 wind chills there is good news.

This weeks forecast is looking up as all the snow is going to quickly turn to slush.

While it may not be paradise after this cold snap it could be for some.

Alysa Pederson with Environment Canada says much warmer weather is on the horizon.

“With the next system moving in through northern Alberta and eastern Manitoba, we’re actually getting a warm-front moving through that should make things better.”

Better means back around zero for daytime highs and come Thursday into Friday it’s more of a Chinook closer to around five degrees.

Multiple record lows were set for December 31st throughout the province.
