A new initiative called ‘Cozy City’ launched on the steps of City Hall this week.
Calgarians were invited to have a fireside, or bonfire chat with city staff on Wednesday, about how technology and public space could come together to make Calgary a better place.
“This is a rapid, scrappy, low-cost experiment that the City of Calgary Innovation Lab is doing,” said Innovation Lead Kristopher Kelly-Frere. “We are doing some experiments about Smart Cities Technology and we thought that bringing an old technology, fire, and a new technology, Google Hangouts, together, might be a way to have a great conversation.”
Kelly-Frere said they were pleased with the reaction they got, when roughly 25 citizens provided them with input.
