In the spirit of the dawning holiday season, #FindChristmasDowntown was trending Friday in Calgary, just in time for #BlackFriday.
And while many shoppers tweeted about the successes (and failures) of marked down deals, a large majority of Twitter-talk had an international twist.
An attack on an Egyptian mosque in the Sinai Peninsula claimed the lives of at least 200 people, Friday morning. Thoughts and prayers were trending with #Egypt, for families of the dead and injured poured out.
And, from South Africa, Oscar Pistorius was a popular mention after the Blade Runner’s prison sentence was more than doubled, to 13 years and 5 months, for the death of his ex-girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
On a completely different tangent, 660NEWS Reporter Lucas Meyer‘s impressions video neared 10,000 views in its first day on YouTube.
