Calgarians are invited to an unforgettable street food experience in the East Village this weekend.
The Moonlight Market Foundation is hosting its first event happening on the Riverwalk at 6 Avenue S.E. from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
Co-founder of the event, Lourdes Juan, says they were inspired by night markets in Asia.
“What we’re hoping to do is emulate a bit of that; so it’s going to be a lot of street food, we have some local retail vendors as well. We’ve encouraged the street food to be between $2.00 and $6.00 so people can eat a lot of different items.”
Lourdes adds there will also be a number of cultural performances and local buskers and singers throughout the night.
The Moonlight Market is a non-profit organization that focuses on celebrating cultural diversity in Calgary.
