A Calgary woman is facing charges after complaints she dragged a dog behind her car on the Trans-Canada Highway.
At about noon on Sunday, July 2nd, Strathmore RCMP were told about a driver who saw a black Pontiac Vibe dragging a dog on a leash near Range Road 270.
At about 6:40 p.m., police received another call and located a critically injured dog leashed to a car matching the earlier description.
The dog was transferred to a veterinary clinic but had to be put down.
Mounties arrested the 40-year-old woman driving the car and a charge of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal is pending.
