No injuries after violent home invasion in Exshaw

Canmore RCMP are still trying to find the man responsible for a violent home invasion in Exshaw Thursday morning.

It happened just before 11 a.m.; no one was hurt.

The homeowner had heard a knock on the door and when he opened it, a man forced his way inside with an “edged” weapon.

Some personal property and a dark grey Toyota RAV4 were stolen.

The SUV was discovered later north of the Morley townsite by Cochrane RCMP, but there is still no sign of the suspect.

He’s being described as an Aboriginal male, 5’9″ to 5’10”, with an average build, short dark black hair, brown eyes, clean shaven, wearing a black oversized hoodie with white markings, baggy blue jeans and black running shoes.

Calgary’s RCMP Forensic Identification Section has been helping Canmore with the case.

Anyone who might have information is being asked to contact police (403.678.5516) or Crime Stoppers (1.800.222.8477).
