Have you bought a present for Father’s Day?

A new study finds when it comes to celebrating our parents on their special days, dad often takes the backseat.

On average, we’re spending about $145 on Father’s Day, less than what is typically spent on mom for her special day.

“Nearly half of the respondents think that dads really just don’t care about celebrating their big day so that is what we think, but it is not necessarily true,” explains Sara Skirboll with RetailMeNot.ca. “I was fascinated to learn that 31 per cent of Canadians are not spending a single cent on dad.”

She adds the top gifts for dad include a dinner out, a gift card or clothing.
