Mother Tucker’s closing

An iconic place to eat in Calgary is closing for good after the holidays.

Mother Tucker’s has been serving delicious prime rib in the Beltline for 34 years.

Employee and former owner Lisa O’Brien tells the Calgary Herald she’s seen people grow up under the restaurant’s roof and could rattle off several hundred celebrities she’s served over the years.

The eatery is scheduled to close on January 2nd.

Its western-themed antiques and pictures will be sold at an on-site auction midway through next month.
