Mounties trying to solve decades-old cold case

RCMP are looking to solve a 30-year-old mystery after a body was found in a B.C. lake.

Divers found an old, rusty Chrysler at the bottom of Skaha Lake near Penticton on Sunday with bone fragments inside.

The divers were doing an Earth Day clean-up when they found the remains.

Police are checking missing persons files from across the country, including in Alberta, to try and identify the remains.

Penticton RCMP tell the Calgary Sun they’re hoping identifying the body will bring closure to somebody, somewhere.
