Manslaughter charges stayed against Calgary man

Manslaughter charges have been stayed against a Calgary man in the death of a toddler.

Kadima Pierre Kalala has spent the last year in remand after his girlfriend’s two-year-old son was found dead in a bathtub in Dover.

He was caring for the boy at the time.  His girlfriend wasn’t home.

An autopsy revealed the toddler had died of blunt force trauma, but the courts say it could have been caused by a slip and fall rather than foul play.
