ATM Skimmers found at city banks

Calgary police say you should give the ATM a once over before punching in your pin number. Two Ontario men have been charged for allegedly rigging several bank machines across Calgary with small devices designed to get you banking information and use it for some quick cash. The men are said to have used pinhole cameras and cell phone technology. They drove out from Ontario to plant the devices and planned to skip town after getting cash. Police spokesman Kevin Brookwell has some advice on how to protect yourself. “Use the same banking machine as often as possible because you get to know that machine, and you’ll be able to identify something that’s missing or not supposed to be there” 29 year-old Michael Joseph Stewart of Toronto, and 45 year-old Hamilton Hillary Savoury of Scarborough are each charged with two counts of possession of fraudulent credit card data and two counts of possession of a device for forging or falsifying credit cards. They’re due in court in Calgary Wednesday morning.
