New event at Spruce Meadows

The world's best in show jumping are competing in a first-ever event at Spruce Meadows Sunday afternoon.

Since many competitors usually arrive at the venue well before next week's Masters, the venue applied to the F.E.I. to hold a World Cup just ahead of it.

The Champions Welcome F.E.I. World Cup Grand Prix is planned as a warmup for the Masters, which starts Wednesday.

Sunday's action starts at 2 p.m. at The Meadow on the Green, so the event won't give Masters competitors an unfair advantage over those who haven't arrived yet.

Admission and parking (at lot #7) are free.
