Two young men will only serve probation after pleading to lesser charges in connection to the swarming attack on Blair Palmer three years ago in the southwest community of Strathcona.

Palmer suffered brain damage and other injuries after a fight which spilled over from a house party on September 3, 2007.

One was sentenced to nine months probation after pleading guilty to causing a disturbance.

The other male was sentenced to 12 months probation after pleading guilty to possession of a dangerous weapon .

The two can not be named because they were young offenders at the time of the attack.
