Few campsites left for long weekend

You may not be able to gather around the campfire if you haven't already booked your site for the long weekend.

There are no campsites left for reservation west of the city in the mountains, and there are only a handful available if you go east to Medicine Hat.

If you're feeling lucky you can try the first come first serve campsites.

"Many of the popular first come, first serve campsites do go quickly. I advise you go on to albertaparks.ca, and find out the exact one you're looking for. A lot of people tend to go a few days early but there is always the option of going up that day and trying your luck," Camille Weleschuk with Alberta Parks tells 660News.

There are many people who scrap their reservation, so you can also try checking the Alberta Parks website for any cancellations.
