Kassam for mayor

Local businessman Alnoor Kassam has kicked started his campaign for mayor in the fall election.

In 2007 Kassam unsuccessfully tried to knock out mayor Dave Bronconnier and spent about a million dollars in the process.

He hasn't released his platform yet but he does say his campaign will focus on the way city hall does business.

"Recently we fired the city auditor, because we didn't want to hear what she had to say to us.  I'm a charted accountant by profession and I know that there is something wrong at city hall." said Kassam.

He also wants to take back more of our tax dollars from province.

Kassam says he doesn't believe in any of the other mayoral candidates because they aren't entrepreneurs.
