Calgary police are trying to piece together exactly what happened during an early morning shooting in the southeast community of Forest Lawn.

The incident broke out just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning in an industrial area near 52nd Street and 17th Avenue.

Police confirm to 660News two males are recovering in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It appears the incident took place in the rear parking lot of a strip mall. A gun could be seen laying in the back alley behind an auto body shop.

One witness tells 660News he saw a black SUV at the scene, with what appeared to be bullet holes in the drivers-side door.
