First degree murder conviction for Samere Mehari

A Calgary man has been convicted of first degree murder in a shooting death outside of a city Tim Hortons.
Justice Sandy Park says video evidence captured at the scene proves that Samere Mehari gunned down Efrem Kuflom shortly before noon on August 18th, 2008.
The video shows Mehari laying in wait and then shooting Kuflom as he drove his car behind the coffee shop, located at 12th Avenue and 11th Street S.W.
The first degree murder conviction carries an automatic life sentence without parole for 25 years.
