Provincial poll shows Tories slightly ahead of Wildrose Alliance

Tanya Fletcher Mar 11, 2010 07:54:58 AM
Albertans seem to be split down the middle when it comes to politics in the province.

A new poll in the Calgary Herald shows Stelmach's Tories are pretty much neck-and-neck with the rising Wildrose Alliance party.

The Conservatives have been at a stand still since last October with a steady 34 per cent support among voters.

The up-and-coming Wildrose Alliance, led by Danielle Smith, now sits at 30 per cent; that's up two per cent from last fall.

The Tories are hoping to widen that popularity gap with the unveiling of the new royalty plan Thursday.
