Alberta Health Services has improved patient protection measures after four mistakes in patient care at the Alberta Children's Hospital last year.
Three of the incidents involved medication errors: Two children received more than the required drug dosages while another child received medication intravenously instead of through an intended stomach tube.
In a fourth incident, a baby received the wrong breast milk.
Officials say they have already implemented recommendations made by the Health Quality Council of Alberta.
The arms-length organization conducted a review requested by A-H-S in the wake of the incidents.
Actions have been taken at the Alberta Children's Hospital and across the system, improving procedures and implementing 'safety action teams' on each patient care unit that include front-line staff.
Hospital officials would not reveal any other details about the cases.
