The Calgary Parking Authority has taken on a new role: keeping tabs on opportunists selling their downtown guest parking passes over online classified sites.
Two weeks ago a Beltline resident had his guest parking pass revoked after the city found out he sold his visitor permit on Kijiji for $700.
Most people living in restricted parking zones can apply for two free year-long visitor permits.
The Calgary Herald reports the person who bought the visitor permit was commuting in from south Calgary, parking on the residential street and then heading off to work.
