The last sitting of the Alberta legislature before a provincial election begins Tuesday with the speech from the throne.
Premier Alison Redford says the budget will be presented on Thursday and once it's passed, politicians will hit the campaign trail.
The opposition parties are expecting to come at the governing Progressive Conservatives from all angles.
The Liberals say they want action to reduce long waiting lists for health care and on overcrowding in hospitals.
The Wildrose Party plans to hammer the Tories on a fifth consecutive deficit budget.
Wildrose says the budget proves the Tories can't stop over-spending, despite high oil prices and a strong provincial economy.
The NDP says it will attack the government over high power bills caused, it says, by a move to deregulation more than 15 years ago.
