Calgary Police say they are gratified with the guilty verdicts and the denied stay of proceedings in the Paxton trial.
Deputy Chief Trevor Daroux says he is hopeful this will help other victims of domestic assault make the difficult decision to come forward about their situation.
He says the bravery of the victims in the case is to be commended, as they had to relive the assaults to help investigators with the case.
Daroux says the decisions will help bring the victim's families one step closer to having closure.
He says they are pleased to hear that the judge thought the officers involved in the case were professional in their support of the victim and court process.
