Organizations committed to ending youth homelessness hope Canadians will help out by donning a red toque tomorrow for what they call "Toque Tuesday."

In Calgary the goal is to put a cap on homelessness by selling 2,000 of the bright red hats.

Those toques would mean supportive housing for a week and help to develop the life-skills needed to break away from street culture for 200 young people.

Organizer Darlene Petrie says volunteers will be up and at it early tomorrow at a number of locations, mostly in the downtown core.

It's the 15th year for Toque Tuesday and Petrie says there are thousands of homeless youth in our community, including countless hidden homeless, meaning those that don't utilize city shelters.

The hats cost $10 and are on sale Tuesday from 7 a.m. until one in the afternoon.
