One high-school teacher in Calgary is going above and beyond to inspire her students to try and make the world a little bit better.

Kate McKenzie teaches grade 9 and embarked on a project called 'The World Views Project'  where she'll journey to eight countries in eight months.

She'll document her travels and the inspirational people she meets, through a series of short films on YouTube and on social media.

McKenzie says, she began the project when her students told her they felt extremely discouraged  about the world global issues and it's been amazing to work with her students.

"They created 20 films of their own.  Calgarian's that are doing real good things on all different areas, we had everything from athletes to dancers to politicians that were featured."
