Some of Calgary's most popular and respected artists will be performing during a 12-hour open house Saturday to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Grand Theatre downtown.
Resident theatre group, Theatre Junction Grand's Alexandra Prichard tells 660News, the Grand is Calgary's oldest physical building and also its newest theatre with a vision that consistently brings in new performance works.
Saturday's performers include Dan Vacon of the Dudes, DJ Pump, Samantha Savage Smith, DJ Wax Romeo, painter Mandy Stobo and DJ Ivan Rankic.
The event will also feature a Sled Island music festival Showcase, live dance performances, a break-dancing jam, a blues jam, live painting by Mandy Stobo (you may know her from her popular ‘Bad Portraits’), a preview of Theatre Junction's next upcoming play, building tours and a Calgary Fashion photo booth.
The ''free'' open house continues all day Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday at the Grand Theatre downtown on 1st Street and 6th Avenue, S.W.
