Fire crews have put out a grass fire that was about 10 acres large.
Batallian Chief Al Magwood tells 660News the fire was on a large field on Bearspaw Road.
He says, when they got there the fire was encroaching on residential areas as well as a city storage area.
"We did a two-prong attack, with five pieces of fire fighting apparatus. There was minimal damage to the storage facility."
Magwood says they don't know what caused the fire but says the dry weather doesn't help.
"I think we are going to see an increase in these in the next week or so if we don't get a little bit of snow."
The fire department is reminding people to take extra care with recreational fires and smoking material.
