An Alberta Liberal MLA says she's willing to stand in front of logging trucks and be arrested, in order to save the grizzlies from being wiped out in the Castle area.
The Calgary Herald reports MLA Laurie Blakeman made the comments to the media at the legislature Friday.
In a news release, the MLA slams the provincial government for failing to protect the bears.
She says clear cut logging in the Castle area, about 100 kilometres south of Calgary, endangers grizzlies and the equipment could crush the dens with the mother bears and cubs inside them.
