One of the accused in the killing of Adam Cavanugh -- the 18-year-old who was shot to death through the basement window of his Temple home five years ago -- says it was never their intention to kill the teenager.
In youth court Friday, the now 22 year old told court it was his group's intention to go inside and beat up Cavanaugh.
The young man, who was 17 at the time, said he took along a 9-millimetre hand gun "just in case." He added his group was outside the basement window of the home for about three minutes before firing a single shot that killed Cavanaugh.
The accused said his cousin -- who has fled to South America on drug charges -- had a beef with the murder victim and wanted revenge.
