Calgary Transit is trimming the fat, resulting in a one-million dollar chop off the top of its budget.
The department will present its plan to city aldermen this week after all city services were asked to try to reduce spending.
In total, 34 routes will be affected by the changes as Transit looks to cut 37-thousand hours from its books over the next three years.
The Calgary Sun reports some of the moves include using shuttle busses in place of full-sized ones, and reducing operation hours for unpopular c-train routes.
