While the Alberta Tories continue down the path to lower the legal blood-alcohol limit for drivers, the premier is assuring raising the legal drinking age is off the table.

Alison Redford released a statement Sunday saying she has no plans to raise the age to 19.

The idea has been floated by Calgary Police Chief Rick Hanson, who also heads the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police.

Solicitor General Jonathan Denis agreed with the premier, telling The Calgary Sun he grew-up in Saskatchewan where the drinking age is 19, and he hasn't noticed much of a difference here.
