You don't have to look too far to find something exciting to do this weekend in Calgary!
To find some new ideas on improving the look of your home, check out The Home Expo Show at the BMO Centre.
Both Saturday and Sunday, over 300 vendors will set up with special guests speakers like Sarah Richardson from HGTV's Sarah's House, and Andrew Downward from HGTV's Divine Design.
Olympic Plaza will transform into a stage with live entertainment Saturday night, part of the High Performance Rodeo.
Limelight: Saturday Night is a public art intervention that has travelled the world and now is taking over Olympic Plaza as a temporary place for impromptu performance.
Tristan Surtees and Charles Blanc, the artists responsible for the piece, will also give a free artist talk about Limelight on Sunday, at the Water Centre Bow River Room.
If you like to dance, Jeunesse Classique Ballet Society along with Calgary Youth Orchestra, Mount Royal University and the University of Calgary, are hosting open auditions for a future production.
"Illumination" will take place Friday May 11th, 2012 at the Jubilee Auditorium. The production hopes to showcase why Calgary was chosen the Cultural Capital of Canada for 2012 by featuring talents across the city.
Auditions run Saturday and Sunday at the Auxiliary Gymnasium, at the U of C.
For a cheap way to try out a new winter sport, head to Canada Olympic Park.
Alberta Snowboarding is hosting an introductory clinic for all ages, Saturday and Sunday.
$10 will get you coaching, a lift pass and lunch. You can register 8:30 until 9:30 each morning.
