A long-term research study into what causes cancer is nearly halfway towards its goal of enrolling 50,000 Albertans -- who have never had the disease -- into a program that hopes to find a cure.

"We get a great response when we go out," Ashlee Venneteilli, the team leader for The Tomorrow Project, says of the project's new road show. "We're getting great response from the mobile units.  We're making it as easy as possible. Obviously it's a big goal and we're looking to more than double what we have in the study right now."

At a temporary study centre in a Royal Oak church, The Tomorrow Project -- first launched in 2008 -- attracted nearly 200 people Tuesday morning to commit two hours of their time for a battery of tests, questions and answers.

Another clinic is being held Wednesday.

Venneteilli says people who are willing to join the study and help find a cure can book an appointment online.  For more information, click on the following link:  www.in4tomorrow.ca
