The math of Alberta's Finance Minister is being called into question.

The Wildrose Alliance has released its own fiscal plan to counter the budget of the Tory government.

The Wildrose plan has a dozen recommendations that it says would reduce the deficit by 60%.

Leader Danielle Smith tells 660News, when you take off the book spending into account, it sits at 7.5 billion dollars, and she says there are many solutions to bring that figure down to $3-billion.

On top of this, the party wants to spread capital spending over four and a half years rather than three and cancel the carbon capture fund. They'd also like to reduce the cabinet by ten ministries.

Smith hopes the government will adopt the recommendations so the province can get its' fiscal house in order.
