This is International Day Against Homophobia and Calgary police are marking the occasion by putting their support behind something called Calgary Gets Better One PSA At A Time.

Its a program for youth facing homophobia and bullying.

Constable Lynn MacDonald hopes 13 videos produced by local youth will shed some light for all of us on the impact bullying and homophobic slurs have on younger Calgarians who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered.

Constable MacDonald says those kids are caught between a rock and a hard place.

"They're being assaulted, which to them is a huge thing, but then to come out and say that you're being assaulted because you're gay, you've automatically outted yourself and there's a large number of kids that are on the street that are there because they've been kicked out of their homes for coming out," says MacDonald.

These videos will premiere at the end of this month at the Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival with hopes that they'll go viral online.
