Low blow from Theoren Fleury

How's this for gratitude?

After an attempted comeback with the Flames and retiring with the team that made him famous, Theoren Fleury has attacked the organization, some players and the NHL in a diatribe on his blog.

Fleury is known for speaking his mind, but he may have crossed the line referring to the Flames and NHL as "stupid" for cutting him in the fall.

The entry has been taken down from his website, www.theofleury14.com, but an article in the Calgary Sun dishes out all of the dirty details.

Fleury claims he wasn't speaking of GM Darryl Sutter or Coach Brent Sutter but Jack FM morning host and Sun writer Eric Francis says it is obvious the Sutters were the targets.

Fleury's rant may mean his on-again off-again relationship with the team may be over.

"Possible employment with the team, which is something he was hoping for, he can forget about that now. The jersey will still be retired, but it will take a lot longer than first anticipated," Francis tells 660News.

It wasn't just management. Fleury also targeted Craig Conroy. In his blog he says "Conroy goes the first 37 games of the season with zero goals." Theo believes he could have scored at least 3 goals.

"I spoke to Conroy and he's full of class. He just said 'Hey I like Theo and I'm not going to get in a war of words with him. I'm just a little disappointed,'" Francis tells 660News.

There's also a point in which he questions the league's up and comers.

"At this time last year, I was 45 pounds overweight and thinking about making a comeback. HAHAHAHA! Anyway, we put our nose to the grindstone and boy did we make a comeback. At one hundred and eighty pounds, I finished 11th out of 56 guys at camp in the fitness test and scored a historic shootout goal in an exhibition game after being out of hockey for six years. What does that say about the talent level in the NHL?" Fleury says in his blog.

Fleury also believes the team should trade Robyn Regehr so Jarome Iginla could get a team member he can actually play well with.

Number 14's prediction is that the Flames won't make it past the first round of the playoffs again this year.

Fleury says he took down the blog because he doesn't want to deal with the headache.
