A town hall meeting held Tuesday afternoon for the upcoming civic election involved Calgarians that are not even allowed to vote yet.

The meeting featured 10 mayoral candidates fielding questions from youths under the age of 18.

Ros Doi from Youth Central tells 660News, their program called "Youth Can Vote" is meant to help those Calgarians not yet able to cast a ballot get first hand experience in the voting process.

They hope youth will become informed citizens so that when they are old enough to vote, they will want to, and understand the process.

A mock vote will also be held on October 18th to compare the results with the actual election.
